Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo has taken a lot of criticism over the years for his attitude when it pertains to coaches and teammates. Whether fairly or not, he has developed a reputation as a bit of a bad seed.
That bad rap was strengthened by his Instagram post last week that called out veteran teammates Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler. Again, Rondo took a lot of heat by the national media.
That reputation may be overblown, however, if you ask his current Bulls teammates. A recent article in the Chicago Tribune quotes Bulls guard Jerian Grant as calling Rondo a "great teammate."
Forward Nikola Mirotic went even further, saying Rondo is among the best people he has ever played with:
“Along with Pau (Gasol), he’s the best teammate I’ve ever had,” Mirotic said.
“I feel so comfortable with him and I think all the young guys do,” Mirotic said. “He’s very honest. He’s talking all the time, supporting before the game, after the game, during the practice. He’s always positive. Even if something is not going well, he’s trying to help young players. It’s been great to have him here.”
That's a strong defense of Rondo by Mirotic. Perhaps that can change the minds of people out there who see him differently. Eh, probably not.
