Kevin Durant is familiar with the chaos of the NBA trade deadline. The rumor mill has already kicked into overdrive as general managers and media types sweat out the final hours before 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 18.
Speaking to the press Wednesday, Durant tried to lighten the mood with a little humor. He joked that Thunder GM Sam Presti was trying to trade him.

Meanwhile, the joke's on the other 29 teams that wish he was being serious.
Maybe Durant is so glib about the deadline because he's familiar with the chaos. The hype surrounding his 2016 free agency has been brewing for the past two seasons. Every anonymous report and every word he says becomes a story -- kind of like this one.
So far, the Wizards, Warriors, Knicks and Lakers have all been reported as potential landing spots for the Washington area native.
When asked about the Thunder roster and whether he'd like to see them make a move, Durant answered like a pro.
"That's out of my control. I trust Sam [Presti] 100 percent. Whatever he does, I know it's for the betterment of the organization and the team. So whatever he chooses to do, I'm happy with it and I'm going to support it," he told ESPN's Royce Young. "I'm not one of those guys that needs so much or wants to know every single move. It's part of the game and I've got to roll with the punches and whatever happens, happens and I've got to be a leader no matter what."
He struck the perfect balance between being non-committal and a team player.
But while the circus dies down tomorrow for the rest of the NBA, Durant will have to wait until next fall for some peace.
