Former Wizard Caron Butler says John Wall is second-best player in Eastern Conference

Caron Butler has known and played alongside a lot of basketball greats in his lifetime. When he evaluates players, he speaks from experience.

After watching the Wizards' 121-102 victory over the Celtics in Game 4, Butler shared some lofty praise for John Wall.

Though he didn't specify, we can assume Butler means Wall comes in second only to LeBron James, who's truly an NBA legend in his own time.

The four-time All-Star finished Game 4 with 27 points, 12 assists, five steals and a block. But his impact on the court was so much bigger than that.

It was Wall that keyed Washington's 26-0 run in the third quarter which essentially put away the game. He hit all nine of his free throws Sunday night, as well.

But second best in the Eastern Conference? That's saying a lot with company like Kyrie Irving, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, DeMar DeRozan and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

You could probably argue Isaiah Thomas belongs in that discussion, too.

Comparing that group of players is almost impossible, but it's also impossible to say that any of them is hands-down better than Wall.
