Remember that time John Wall did the Dougie? Of course you do, ESPN Radio host Colin Cowherd will never let you, or John, forget it. Cowherd has insistently brought up John Wall's dance moves throughout the year, and finally someone may have put an end to it.
Wall's former college coach John Calipari was a guest on Cowherd's show on Friday and put him in his place, saying "You have to stop on John Wall". He also told Cowherd that he is "out of his mind" and that the Dougie happened years ago and it's time to let it go.
Calipari praised his former point guard on his talents on the court and the strides he has made off of it as well. He told Cowherd "Listen, he has come so far. There’s not one time that he doesn’t text me or call me that ends with ‘Coach, I love you.’". Calipari also commended Wall for the work he's done in Washington by helping turn the Wizards into a playoff team.
After letting Calpari say his peace, the two also discussed the point guard position in the NBA and how it has evolved throughout the years. Cowherd saying he is a "old school guy" and needs to get use to the style of play that is popular now, a style that is similar to what Wall brings to the court.
But Calipari didn't let Cowherd off the hook too easily, towards the end of their conversation Calipari also jokingly added Cowherd should "go to church and ask for forgiveness". Well done Cal, we thank you.
