John Wall said himself that he expected to earn a "fat fine" from the NBA for his involvement in Wednesday's postgame altercation with the Celtics, and that's exactly what he got. The NBA docked Wall $15,000 on Saturday, the league announced in a press release.

Celtics forward Jae Crowder was fined a larger sum of $25,000 for his role in all of it. He poked Wall in the nose after the two exchanged words and that's when a shoving match broke out between both teams. According to the NBA, Crowder was punished for "attempting to escalate the situation after exiting the playing court."

The penalties were levied by NBA vice president of basketball operations Kiki Vandeweghe.

The Wizards and Celtics had the confrontation after a chippy game between both sides. Both Bradley Beal and Markieff Morris earned technicals during the game.

Boston and Washington meet next on Jan. 24 at the Verizon Center.
