Retired Lakers great Kobe Bryant challenged John Wall to make the All-NBA Defensive first team next season.

He has been issuing various challenges to athletes and other celebrities as part of his #MambaMentality campaign with Nike.

For example, he asked Isaiah Thomas to make the All-NBA first team next season, then called on Kendrick Lamar to help "revolutionize" the music program at his high school in Compton.

Wall wasn't one of Bryant's initial targets, but answered a request for a challenge.

It seems Wall – who made the All-NBA third team last season and wasn't please to have narrowly missed the All-Defensive teams – heard Bryant loud and clear.

Challenge accepted. If Wizards fans weren't counting down the days to October 18 yet, it's time to start.
