By now you've heard about the drama with the Knicks. No, not the Phil Jackson-Carmelo Anthony drama. I'm talking about the craziness of Charles Oakley being forcibly removed from Madison Square Garden by team security.
The incident Wednesday night stems from the bad blood between Knicks owner James Dolan and Oakley, a legend from the 1990s Knicks teams. Dolan has made Oakley persona-non-grata at the Garden for his public criticism of the franchise.
So when Oakley purchased his own tickets to the game, sitting in close proximity to Dolan, conflict errupted. Oakley maintains that he did nothing to prompt security approaching him.
The Knicks claimed in a statement that Oakley "behaved in a highly inappropriate and completely abusive manner." The former player was charged with several crimes over the scuffle, including misdemeanor assualt.
Video of Oakley being dragged out of Madison Square Garden has prompted strong reactions from fans on social media, many indictating that it was the Knicks who acted in an inappropriate and abusive manner.
Now, several of the NBA's biggest and most respected stars have taken Oakley's side. LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Paul each posted his picture on Instagram.

10years!!! 10 years Oak gave everything he had for this organization and the image everyone will be left with won't be this picture. It will be the imagine of him being taken down to the ground last night in the same arena he gave his all 2 as a player by the guards! This Could happen to any of us!!! #StayWoke We are not above this treatment!
James already has issues with Knicks team president Phil Jackson. Remember Jackson's "posse" comment this November?
While these players can't change what happened with Oakley, they certainly can influence opinions about the Knicks among fellow players and the public.
