The Wizards were without one of their starters against the Knicks on Thursday night, as about an hour before tip-off the team announced Markieff Morris was unavailable due to a sore right ankle.

Morris injured his right ankle in the final minute of the Wizards' loss to the Jazz on friday night in Utah. He rolled his ankle while going for a rebound.

Morris was considered questionable for their Sunday game at the Warriors, but ended up playing. He was also fine for Tuesday night's game in Washington against the Hornets.

Veteran Jason Smith started at power forward instead of Morris, who missed his fifth game this season. The six-year pro is averaging 13.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
