The Orlando Magic may be more serious about winning now than people give them credit for. A new report from ESPN says the Magic tried to trade for Heat point guard Goran Dragic, a signal they may be aggressive in the next few weeks leading up to the NBA trade deadline.

The story comes from Zach Lowe, who wrote:

"Teams will express interest in Dragic ahead of the trade deadline — a bunch, including the Magic, already did, per league sources — but Miami can hold out for a hefty return."

Dragic, 30, is having one of his best seasons with 19 points and 6.5 assists per game. He makes $15.9 million this year and is set to earn about $54.3 million over the next three seasons.

The Magic and Heat are both out of the playoff picture at the moment. Orlando is 16-24, while Miami is 11-29, just two games out of last place in the East.

The Magic remain one of the league's best defensive teams, but struggle scoring the ball. Dragic would certainly help that cause.
