Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins confronted Sacramento Bee columnist Andy Furillo in the locker room in response to a story written by Furillo that referenced the May arrest of Cousins' brother, Jaleel, as shown in a video published by the Bee on Friday.
The younger Cousins, who once played college basketball at South Florida, was arrested after an incident at a Tampa club. The elder Cousins was at the same bar but was not directly involved or charged.
The reference in Furillo's column was part of a larger story about an incident at a New York club this month when Kings forward Matt Barnes allegedly choked a woman and Cousins allegedly hit a man in the face, according to the Bee.
“We’re going to have some real f---ing issues. Don’t ever mention my brother again. You don't know my f---ing brother. F---ing coward," Cousins is seen in the video saying to Furillo. "You say whatever you want to say about me but don't mention my f---ing family.”
The NBA was aware of Cousins situation in recent days. Strong sense that a penalty is coming. May be a couple days. https://t.co/YyWS95Cn65— Sam Amick (@sam_amick) December 17, 2016
