When is the U.S. Open golf tournament?

It may be the middle of September rather than the middle of June, but the U.S. Open golf tournament is here!

Typically golf's third major event each calendar year, the U.S. Open will be just the second of 2020. The Masters, originally scheduled for April, will take place November 12-15 in Augusta, Ga. The PGA Championship was held in early August, while the Open Championship was canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Even despite the unusual circumstances, the U.S. Open is shaping up to be one of the most exciting tournaments of the year.
