2017-18 NBA Rookie of the Year rankings
6. Dennis Smith, Jr.

Dallas has lost three of their last five, but Smith has played well over the stretch.
16.4 points and 7.0 assists while shooting over 46 percent from three.
5. Josh Jackson

Phoenix is in full tank-mode, but Jackson has been on a tear.
23.6 points per game over his last five, four of which though have been losses.
4. Jayson Tatum, Celtics
Rank Last Week: No. 4
With the Celtics limping into the playoffs, Tatum has seen his role increase, and he hasn't disappointed.
Boston just had their six game win streak snapped, but during that stretch, Tatum put up 18.5 points per game, including a 23-point, 11 rebound game in a win over the Thunder.
3. Kyle Kuzma, Lakers
Rank Last Week: No. 3
Kuzma continues to be a valuable part of the Lakers' rebuild, averaging 20.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game over the last five games, but just 28 percent from three.
2. Donovan Mitchell, Jazz
Rank Last Week: No. 2
Mitchell has been making a case most of the year to beat out the more hyped Ben Simmons, and right now it's Simmons over Mitchell by a hair.
Mitchell has had to carry a bigger burden in Utah, while the Jazz have won three straight.
1. Ben Simmons, Sixers
Rank Last Week: No. 1
11 straight wins for the Sixers, who are in the playoffs for the first time since 2012.
During the win streak, Simmons has only had two games with fewer than ten assists.
He's also had four triple-doubles.
