Maryland big man Bruno Fernando is reportedly heading to the Hawks after the 76ers traded the No. 34 pick to Atlanta.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Philadelphia will receive pick No. 57 and two future second round picks for Fernando.
A huge hit during his two seasons with the Terrapins, Fernando will reunite with former Maryland teammate Kevin Huerter in Atlanta.
As the first Angola-born player selected in the NBA Draft, Fernando is ready to blaze a trail for future Angolans.
"It's really gratifying for me that I have the opportunity to make and really open doors for everybody else. Hopefully, we'll have more than just me in the NBA in the years to come," Fernando told NBC Sports Washington in an interview for the I Am The Prospect series.
