The upcoming NBA Draft Lottery will do a lot to determine the future of franchises around the league.

Every day through May 14, the date of the lottery, we’ll be running a new simulation and creating a mock draft based off of that hypothetical NBA reality, then breaking down the implications of it.

NICK ASHOOH: Rumors that the Suns would prefer Ja Morant over Zion at No. 1 could be a lie, but I love the kid and totally believe the Suns would do something crazy. They already passed on my man-crush Luka Doncic last year, so let’s shake things up right off the and embrace their crazy.\

WES HALL: Woooo ... passing on Zion Williamson is either genius or downright criminal! In this case, I think it’s the smartest thing the Suns could do. You can never lose by building a team that looks better on the court instead of on billboards. Win first and the fanfare will follow.

NICK ASHOOH: The Knick's run to the hand in this draft card in record time, leaving behind a trail of smoke. Easiest pick at No. 2 in the history of the draft.

WES HALL: Zion + NYC + 3 guys from a pickup game in Rucker park = doesn’t matter because Zion will instantly become the King of New York and that’s all that matters to the Knicks. Winning? We’ll see about that later.

NICK ASHOOH: Pairing RJ Barrett with the young core Atlanta has already built gives them a group of players that can score from anywhere on the court.

WES HALL: Trae Young might just have his NBA BFF in Barrett. Neither of them is afraid to attack the basket or let it fly from the beyond the arc. Wizards beware the speed in the A-town.

NICK ASHOOH: The Cavs looked like a G-League roster by the end of the season. Whoever they take here will already be the best player on the team. They need talent.

WES HALL: Jarrett Culver will be fine in Cleveland as long as he shows up and ties his shoes. Cleveland needs so much help that Culver would be wise to study the last SF that owned Cleveland and see if he’s able to duplicate any portion of his success.

NICK ASHOOH: The Bulls are loaded with young talent and taking a versatile wing like Hunter will add to their core.

WES HALL: Since the Bulls don’t really have a focal point, there will definitely be space for Hunter to live up to his top-10 draft pick billing. He really doesn’t have a choice, does he?

NICK ASHOOH: This is the perfect scenario for the Wizards in this spot. Reddish would have a chance to grow and develop along with Troy Brown Jr., hopefully giving the Wizards a strong scoring wing as time goes on.

WES HALL: Having his talents in DC means you have versatility and athleticism at a position that almost begs for depth on the Wizards roster. Reddish and Brown would be iron sharpening iron as they grow into the players they seek to become. This is a definite win for the Wizards!

NICK ASHOOH: The Pels are clearly going to look different next year, especially with David Griffin tasked to deal with the Anthony Davis trade. I bet Jrue Holiday is moved as well, so Garland becomes their new PG of the future.

WES HALL: At Vandy, his freshman season was cut short with knee injury. In New Orleans, he’ll be in the perfect environment to grow to full potential without the pressure to produce immediately.

NICK ASHOOH: With Mike Conley likely getting freed from his Memphis prison this offseason as well, another potential PG here makes sense. He also has great hair.

WES HALL: Like the city of Memphis, White is intense, passionate, and ready to dispel any disbelief in his talents on the NBA stage. And yes, the hair does help.

NICK ASHOOH: The Hawks luck out and get Dallas’ pick from the Doncic trade, which means having already taken a swingman in RJ Barrett, they go bigger with the 6-11 Hayes to compliment John Collins.

WES HALL: Big men in the East EAT! It’s a fact that Hayes can become a defensive nightmare for opponents as long as he is willing to give himself time to grow and learn; he’s only 18.

WES HALL: If he’s even 50 percent as talented as Antawn Jamison then the T-Wolves have a winner on their hands. Plus, it’s fun to say Hachimura!

NICK ASHOOH: The UNC freshman is a two-way athletic forward who will really enjoy hearing his name in trade rumors the minute GM LeBron drafts him and tries to package him in an Anthony Davis trade.

WES HALL: His flight to LA might last longer than his tenure in purple and gold. His best move would be making sure his in-flight movie is action-packed because that’s all the action he’ll get as a (temporary)Laker.

NICK ASHOOH: The Celtics apparently don’t even want a lottery pick this year, because, they’re so spoiled and rich with extra picks they don’t need it. Take a player that can maybe be stashed for a year or at least brought slowly in Boston.

WES HALL: /Googles Sekou Doumbouya/ Ok. We’ll see him on court in 2021, if we're lucky. Until then, thanks Boston for not invoking any more fear in Wizards fans hearts. Something about those Celtics...

NICK ASHOOH: Solid wing scorer that can also rebound well for his size. Miami overspent on their entire roster so a cheap player that can fill multiple needs is solid for them at No. 13.

WES HALL: Any UK product is a good one until proven otherwise. Standing at 6-6 he’s versatile enough to be plugged in wherever you need him. He’s still a little raw, but who isn’t?

WES HALL: At 20 years old, he’ll carry a little more maturity than some of the other picks in his class, and he’s going to need to use it too after Kemba bounces out of town and leaves the franchise in full rebuild mode.
