Following a first half where the Wizards fell behind the Kings by as many as 28 points, Bradley Beal exchanged words with a fan walking off the floor toward the locker room.
When asked about the confrontation after the game, Beal said the fan directed several expletives toward him.
The Wizards came out firing in the third quarter, using an 18-0 run to outscore Sacramento 46-19 heading into the fourth. They were able to tie the game, but were never able to get over the hump and take a lead. The deficit was too great to overcome.
"Fans are fans," he said. "I respect every fan, I respect you spending your money to come watch us play, but us as players, we're not sitting here bringing the fight to them. Let's keep it clean."
A staunch defender of her fiance, Kamiah Adams went to Twitter late Tuesday night to criticize the fan's behavior.
"Criticize the game, criticize the players, that’s fine," Adams wrote. "But be respectful, and know there’s a line, and if you cross that, especially in regards to my husband, know I’m pressing all issues!"
This isn't the first time a Wizards player has gotten into an altercation with a fan this season. During a December matchup with the Sixers in Philadelphia, Isaiah Thomas was ejected for entering the stands to confront a fan.
Afterward, Thomas said the fan cussed him out and held up middle fingers at him because the fan wanted a free frosty.
The NBA has put an emphasis on fan conduct during games over the last few years, though it isn't yet known whether the Kings plan to discipline the fan who was involved with Beal Tuesday night.
