WASHINGTON - As NBA 2K20 became available today, several WNBA players discovered their player ratings on the popular hoops videogame.
To no one's surprise, Elena Delle Donne was the top player on the Washington Mystics with a player rating of 95 out of 100. There was only one other player in the entire league that matched Delle Donne's 95, the Seattle Storm's Breanna Stewart.
"I don't play videogames," Delle Donne said after the release. "I'm definitely honored to have such a high rating, I guess. I gotta learn about ratings."
As compared to the NBA, Delle Donne and Stewart matched the same rating as the Golden State Warriors' Steph Curry. Only five other NBA players are currently ranked higher.
Guard Kristi Toliver was the second-ranked player for Washington (87) as the other All-Star on the roster. The remaining three starters are the other Mystics ranked above an 80.
Below is the remaining of the Mystics' first-ever 2K ratings.
#11 Elena Delle Donne - 95
#20 Kristi Toliver - 87
#7 Ariel Atkins - 84
#30 LaToya Sanders - 81
#9 Natasha Cloud - 80
#21 Tianna Hawkins - 79
#33 Emma Meesseman -79
#23 Aerial Powers - 78
#2 Myisha Hines-Allen - 75
#32 Shatori Walker-Kimbrough - 75
#5 Kiara Leslie - 72
#6 Kim Mestdagh - 71
This edition of NBA 2K20 is the first time ever that the WNBA will be featured in the videogame. Several players are extremely excited to be in on the game as many were not pleased with the WNBA product put out by NBA Live in 2017.
No one, though, is more thrilled than the Mystics' resident gamer Aerial Powers. She pre-ordered the game and already has raving reviews, meeting her expectations. However, as she predicted, NBA 2K definitely shorted the guard in her rating.
"They low-balled me on the rating," Powers told NBC Sports Washington. "I should be at least over 85, I think. The way I've been playing lately. And then my defense is 68? That's awful. I'm a lock-down defender. That's awful."
