Kelly Oubre rips Suns owner after trade to Warriors

Former Wizards wing and newly acquired Warrior Kelly Oubre didn't hide his feelings about the Suns organization he's leaving, particularly owner Robert Sarver.

While complementing Warriors owner Joe Lacob, Oubre managed to take a shot at Sarver for his mishandling of the franchise.

"I can play for an owner -- somebody who actually cares about the organization and not just the perception of the organization on the media end of it," Oubre told 95.7 The Game in San Francisco. "It's all about the foundation for me, man. You have a beautiful foundation, can build a beautiful [future]."

Sarver is one of the most scrutinized owners in the NBA and has taken heat for a multitude of Phoenix's issues over the years. Between the consistent losing since he took over the team in 2004 and the revolving door of coaches and executives, the Suns have not exactly been a model of success for quite some time.

This is the team that decided not to trade up for Jayson Tatum and passed on Luka Doncic in back-to-back years.

Still, they've managed to build a legitimate playoff team around Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton with the Chris Paul trade and Oubre was a part of the package sent to the Thunder for CP3. Oubre enjoyed a career-year with the Suns, who traded Trevor Ariza to the Wizards at the 2019 trade deadline. He averaged 18.7 points on 45.2% shooting last season before injuring his knee and missing out on the NBA bubble.

Now on the Warriors, Oubre will certainly find himself in the middle of some classic battles between two of the Western Conference's best teams.
