Former Wizard Moe Wagner leads Germany to Tokyo Olympics bid

Germany's men's basketball national team is headed to the Tokyo Olympics, in large part due to the play of former Wizards big man Moe Wagner.

On Sunday, Wagner scored 28 points in Germany's 75-64 victory over Brazil in the championship game of the Croatia Qualifying tournament, clinching a bid for this summer's Olympic Games.

Wagner also earned MVP honors at the tournament.

Germany's run to an Olympic bid included an epic comeback over Croatia in the semifinals on Saturday. Germany outscored Croatia by 17 points in the final quarter to advance to the championship game.

The German national team finished the qualifying tournament with a 4-0 record with victories over Mexico, Russia, Croatia and Brazil.

Germany will be in Group B when the Olympics begin later this month, along with Australia, Nigeria and Italy.
