In addition to watching coverage of the Wizards' matchup with the Pacers beginning at 6 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington, fans will have the opportunity to watch and interactive, alternate live-game experience on NBC Sports Washington Plus. This broadcast will include a free-to-play predictive gaming contest with a $500 prize each quarter, totaling $2,000 over the course of the game. The alternate broadcast will also include real-time sports-betting data and game statistics.
This is the first of 20 Wizards telecasts during the 2019-20 season featuring Predict the Game contests. Real-time data, questions and leaderboards, will be displayed on a graphics overlay surrounding the regular live-game presentation, which will have full audio and video from the main channel's broadcast. The game will also be available simultaneously on NBC Sports Washington as scheduled.
The Wizards enter Wednesday's game against the Pacers coming off their second win of the season. Indiana is 3-3 on the season, though they've won three straight games, including two in a row at home. They are 5-1-0 against the spread this season, while the Pacers are 2-3-1 ATS.
With 26.5 points per game, Bradley Beal has unsurprisingly carried the bulk of the scoring load to start the season. He's shooting just 33.3% from beyond the arc, so expect those numbers to increase as the season continues. Rookie Rui Hachimura has surprised with his versatile scoring ability early in his first year in the NBA, as he's currently second on the Wizards with 14.7 points per game. He's also third on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game as he makes an early case for Rookie of the Year.
Wizards-Pacers will tip off Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Washington and NBC Sports Washington Plus.
PREDICT THE GAME HOW TO WATCH
What is this broadcast? Predict the Game is an easy-to-enter, free contest that allows fans to predict various game and player performance outcomes through a series of approximately 12-15 questions per quarter that will appear on screen during the alternate telecast on NBC Sports Washington Plus. Predict the Game leaderboards will be displayed at select times, and the winner of each contest will be revealed throughout the game and during NBC Sports Washington’s postgame coverage.
Where can I find it? Contest questions and leaderboards will be displayed on NBC Sports Washington Plus (Channel Finder).
The NBC Sports Washington Plus presentation will, for the first time, feature special hosts, who will appear at various times to address Predict the Game participants and provide contest updates, information and results. The enhanced experience will contain the majority of the same video and audio (including announcers) as the primary live-game coverage, which will be available simultaneously on NBC Sports Washington.
How do I win? Fans will earn points for both answering questions (1 point) and correct predictions (1 or 2 points, depending on the question), with the top eligible scorer at the end of each game earning or splitting the $500 prize.
Each quarter will be its own contest, with an entirely new leaderboard starting from scratch, so even if fans miss out on the start of the game there will still be plenty of time to play and win.
Fans must enter Predict the Game, which is open to join throughout the entire game, and submit their predictions at www.nbcsportswashington.com/predict.
