The Capitals won their cup. The Mystics ran it back. The Nationals finished their fight. Now, another D.C. franchise is on the cusp of bringing a championship to the nation's capital.

Wizards District Gaming –– the Washington Wizards’ NBA 2K League affiliate –– advanced to the league’s finals for the first time in history and will take on Warriors Gaming Squad on Friday in hopes of bringing home the title and $420,000 prize.

Since the team qualified for the finals on Saturday, sports icons and teams from around the D.C. area have taken to Twitter to show their support for WDG.

Mystics forward Aerial Powers was the first and wrote, “LETS GOOOOO!!! Congratulations to my guys! Job not done! Let’s get it.”

John Wall continued the trend and shared WDG’s post saying, “Yessir!! Congrats”

Then, D.C. United and the Capitals’ dog Captain both shared posts of their own as well.

Wizards District Gaming will face off against Warriors Gaming Squad in the NBA 2K League Finals on Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2, Twitch, YouTube and the ESPN app in hopes of bringing home another championship to the district of champions.
