The Wizards' home opener during Wall's rookie year proved to be his statement to the league that he was worthy of the No. 1 pick.

Coming off a 28-point performance in a loss to the Hawk, it was time to give Washington fans a glimpse into what they could expect for at least the next decade.

Wall put up 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting to go along with 13 assists and nine steals in an overtime win over the Sixers.

In his first trip to the postseason, Wall helped lift the Wizards over the Bulls in the first round of the 2014 playoffs thanks to a 24-point, seven-rebound effort in Game 5.

It was the Wizards' first playoff series win in nine years and it marked Wall and the team's arrival as a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference.

When Wall's jumper gets going, he's an absolute handful. No night proved that more than the night he went for 52 points against the Magic in 2016.

It was a career-high scoring output by the five-time All-Star, as he went 18-for-31 from the floor and made five of his eight three-point attempts. The Wizards didn't come away with the win in this one, but it was easily one of Wall's best performances in D.C.

On two occasions during his career-year, in 2016-17, Wall reached 19 assists but couldn't get over the hump to 20.

Somehow late in the year playing on a bad foot, he finally did it. Wall dished out 20 assists to set a new career-high and become the third player in franchise history to get 20 assists in a game against the Bulls.

Rod Strickland and Kevin Porter were the others to do it.

Off the heels of a Kelly Oubre and Austin Rivers trade, the Wizards needed heavy minutes from their starters, and John Wall delivered in a major way.

Wall had 28 points and eight assists at halftime, joining Gilbert Arenas as the only Wizards in the last 20 seasons with 25+ points and 5+ assists by halftime.

Wall finished with 40 points and 14 assists in a 128-110 victory over the LeBron James led Lakers. Washington snapped a four-game losing streak as well.

With a 3-2 lead heading into Game 6 of a first-round series with Atlanta, Wall promised the star Falcons receiver he'd drop 40 and get a win to close out the series.

He did just that, scoring 42 points with eight assists and four steals en route to a commanding win to get the Wizards back into the second round of the playoffs.

This was peak Wizards/Celtics "rivalry."

At the conclusion of the last meeting these two teams had earlier in the season, John Wall and Celtics forward Jae Crowder got into an altercation that racked up a combined $40,000 in fines. With that being the case, on top of a lot of other altercations that season, the Wizards arrived to the arena in all black attire.

Wall labeled it a 'funeral.'

A funeral is was. Wall dropped 27 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and all but sealed the victory with a poster dunk on Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk.

Final score: 123-108.

It was also Washington's 14th straight win at home — the NBA's longest active streak at the time.

Christmas Day was a special day for Wizards fans everywhere in 2014. Why, you may ask.

Johnathan Hildred Wall.

Wall put on a clinic in Game 1 of a five game Christmas Day slate, erupting for 24 points (10-for-17), 11 rebounds, 6 assists and this all-time 360 layup.

The Wizards went on to win 102-91.

On December 8, 2014 Wall dedicated Washington's 133-132 double-overtime victory over Boston to Miyah Telemaque-Nelson, who passed away earlier in the day after her battle with Burkitt's Lymphoma.

"This is an emotional game for me," Wall told NBC Sports Washington's Chris Miller. "This is for Miyah, one of my closest friends I lost. I met her last year. It's just tough. To see a little kid that fights so hard against cancer and can't beat it. This game is for her. My jersey, my shorts, I'm going to give it to her family. It's a tough day for me."

Wall finished the game with 26 points (10-for-17), a career-high 17 assists and seven rebounds. He scored the team's final 10 points in the second overtime period, including the game-winning and-one shot with 44 seconds remaining.

The quintessential John Wall moment. One of the most monumental moments in Wall's career that has Wizards fans everywhere struggling to deal with the end of an era.

In Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, win or go home, Wall tallied eight assists to go alongside 26 points. However, there wasn't a bigger shot in the game than the 3-pointer he hit with 3.5 seconds left for the go-ahead basket.

In celebration, Wall ecstatically jumped atop the scorers table and yelled "I'm not going home!"
