Nets' DeAndre Jordan out for season, Spencer Dinwiddie in question after testing positive for COVID-19

Brooklyn Nets point guard Spencer Dinwiddie and center DeAndre have both tested positive for COVID-19.

Jordan announced Monday on Twitter that he tested positive Sunday night and again on Monday, adding that he won't be joining the team in Orlando next month for the 2019-20 season restart.

Dinwiddie shared news of his positive test with The Athletic's Shams Charania, saying he has experienced symptoms and it remains unclear whether he'll head to the 'bubble' at Disney World.

"Over the past few months, I have been diligent about protecting myself and others from COVID-19 by following all designated protocol and quarantining," Dinwiddie said. "I was ready and prepared to rejoin my teammates as we were to be an early entry team in the resumed season. I flew private to return to New York, passed multiple COVID-19 tests over my first several days in New York and was able to participate in a couple practices within the first week.

"Originally, we were supposed to be one of the teams to enter into the Orlando bubble early, but training camp got switched back to New York and unfortunately I am now positive. Given that I have experienced symptoms, including fever and chest tightness, it is unclear on whether or not I'll be able to participate in Orlando."

There is currently a three-way race for the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference between the Nets, Washington Wizards and Orlando Magic. Washington has the toughest remaining schedule by opponent win percentage, but the possible absence of Dinwiddie and Jordan in Brookyln would certainly help the Wizards.
