Report: Kings have COVID outbreak day after playing Wizards

The Sacramento Kings are in the midst of a COVID-19 outbreak, a move that was reported just hours after the team’s game against the Wizards on Wednesday night.

The report, according to Shams Charania, says there are multiple positive tests and symptomatic cases in the organization among players and staffers.

The Wizards got forward Kyle Kuzma back in the starting lineup against the Kings following a two-game absence after his entrance to the league’s health and safety protocols. A team staffer had also tested positive. But once Kuzma returned to the lineup, it appeared the Wizards were in the clear.

A day ago, the NBA and NBPA were in talks for more regular testing for players and staff. The Bulls, Hornets, Nets and now the Kings have been hit with outbreaks. The league also imposed a deadline for players to receive booster shots.

Washington is scheduled to face the Phoenix Suns on Thursday in Arizona. Tip is scheduled for 9 pm.
