Before the Wizards started their first matchup of the season with the Lakers Friday night, two of Japan's biggest stars met up and took a photo.
That would be Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura and LA Angels star Shohei Ohtani.
Ohtani joined the Angels two years ago as a prized free agent from Japan and won the AL Rookie of the Year award as a pitcher and designated hitter.
While Hachimura isn't at quite the same level as Ohtani in his respective sport, but he's showing plenty of promise as a player the Wizards might want to hold on to long term.
For these two young, promising players representing their home country in two big American sports markets, Japan has plenty to be excited about.
