Scott Brooks says John Wall has 'worked his you know what off'


John Wall has had this [tentative] date circled on the calendar for a very long time. His return to an NBA court while sporting the red, white, and blue.

Thursday, head coach Scott Brooks spoke on the time he's spent with Wall during the offseason and delivered his assessment of Wall's work ethic.

"You know, I’m glad I could spend some time with John three, four weeks ago in Los Angles," Brooks told NBC Sports Washington after the selection of Deni Avdija. "I glad that he’s healthy. He’s worked his you know what off the last couple of years to get in this position."

If there's one thing Wall is going to do is work. There has been no shortage of workout footage and exhibition video that's been released showcasing Wall looking primed for his NBA return.

Brooks went on to specify that while he hadn't spoken to Wall and backcourt mate Bradley Beal following the selection of Avdija, but he insisted the duo would approve.

"They are going to be fine. They are going to be really good and they saw what we’ve done last year," Brooks said. "We cleaned up a lot of things and we got a lot of high character guys that want to get better and you know the maturation process is a slow-developing process."
