Russell Westbrook scores first bucket in Wizards preseason debut

Russell Westbrook made his Wizards preseason debut on Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons and about 10 minutes into the first quarter scored his first points.

Westbrook got the ball in the post, drove with his right hand and finished through traffic at the rim.

Westbrook was appearing in his first preseason game with the Wizards after sitting their first two due to rest. He joined the Wizards in a trade with the Houston Rockets earlier this month.

Westbrook was only scheduled to play in the first half on Saturday. The Wizards didn't see the need to play him a lot in the preseason, despite the fact he's joining a new team, due to his 12 years of NBA experience.

The Wizards will open their regular season schedule on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
