During the Washington Wizards’ coaching search over the summer of 2021, Wes Unseld Jr. stood out not only as a defensive mastermind, but also as just an all-around likeable guy. He spent six seasons as an assistant for the Denver Nuggets before landing in D.C.

Though the Wizards would end up losing Monday night’s contest in Denver 113-107, it was a sweet reunion for Unseld Jr. with his former squad. Here are some tweets that will show you just how much Unseld Jr. meant to the Nuggets during his time there:

Washington’s loss to Denver was its fifth loss in the team’s last six games. With five more road games coming up, Unseld Jr. will try to motivate his team back into the win column before Christmas.
