The Wizards, like many teams across the NBA, have been hit hard by a surge of positive coronavirus tests.
Washington has six players in health and safety protocols as of January 5. An outbreak in December caused one matchup against the Brooklyn Nets to get postponed, though new protocols from the league could help prevent any more schedule complications.Â
As a part of significant changes to the NBA's health and safety protocols, isolation periods for players who test positive may now be shortened from 10 days down to six days, provided those players are asymptomatic and meet other testing standards.Â
Here is a look at which Wizards players are out due to COVID-19 along with the day they entered health and safety protocols.

Those to exit health and safety protocols are not always ready to return to the playing floor right away. These are the Wizards players to be cleared from a COVID-19 standpoint, but still need a little time to get their wind back.
