The Washington Wizards surprised many with their selection of Maccabi Tel Aviv's Deni Avdija with the ninth overall pick in this year's draft. With many people on both sides of the fence as to how Avdija can make his mark with the Wizards, star Bradley Beal had high praise for what he's seen from the 19-year old after Day 1 of practice.
"He has a lot of dog and he doesn’t back down. He has great size he’s a lot bigger than people think," Beal said. "He can shoot very well, nice touch, nice form, we just have to get him a better feel of the game at the three or four [position] once hes fully acclimated, just like Rui [Hachimura]."
"Rui’s growth is crazy to see even in his process he got better," Beal continued. "I think we’ll see same with Deni. We’ll throw him to the fire and see what he can do."
Washington's first half scheduled was released earlier today. Deni will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself to Beal and the rest of the Wizards locker room.
