Getting a drink courtside at a Washington Wizards game is going to be a lot easier for the 2019-20 season. Next year the Wizards will unveil a 1,000 square feet courtside patio with a bar to enhance the social atmosphere of the arena.

The patio, called 'The District', will be the largest in the NBA and available to all VIP ticket holders. There will also be a bar with food options, while still having access to the MGM National Harbor VIP Lounge and the Etihad Airways Lounge.

“Washington, D.C. is one of the most connected cities in the world and the courtside patio at Capital One Arena will be an ideal location for business development and networking opportunities and perfect for fans who want to socialize at a unique space that serves as a literal extension of the hardwood and our terrific in-venue VIP experiences,” Jim Van Stone, President of Business Operations for Monumental Sports and Entertainment, said in a press release.

Located on the right side of the court, next to the Wizards' bench, it will occupy a portion of sections 105 and 106. It will also feature VIP seating that will allow fans to stand, sit and socialize at their own will.

Adding the courtside patio is a part of the $55 million renovations of Capital One Arena this summer.
