Wizards forward Rui Hachimura enters coronavirus protocols

The Washington Wizards coronavirus outbreak continues to spread.

Forward Rui Hachimura has entered the NBA's COVID-19 protocols, the eighth Wizards player to enter virus protocols since Dec. 21. Hachimura is the second player to enter the protocols on Tuesday, along with Montrezl Harrell.

Washington has listed six players out for Tuesday night's game against Miami: Hachimura, Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Anthony Gill, Aaron Holiday and Raul Neto. Star guard Bradley Beal, who entered protocols this past weekend, is listed as questionable.

Hachimura has yet to play this season for Washington after missing the beginning of the season due to personal reasons. However, Hachimura had been ramping up his activity over the past few weeks, and there was a chance he could have made his season debut on Tuesday prior to entering virus protocols.

Additionally, the Wizards announced the signing of Craig Sword to a 10-day contract via the NBA Hardship Exception provisions.
