The Wizards got themselves back in the win column Monday with a 106-100 win over the Pistons.
For a game between two of the lower-seeded teams in the Eastern Conference, this game had some great moments.
Here's a look at the top three.
Beal crosses Drummond in the worst way
Bradley Beal was on a mission early on in this game. He started 17 points behind Wes Unseld on the Wizards' all-time scoring list and he was getting shots off early.
His best of the day came off a nasty crossover on Andre Drummond, sending the Pistons center stumbling over himself before drilling a three at the end of the shot clock.
Beal didn't get as much All-Star love from the fan vote as a player of his caliber probably deserves, so we can take this as him showing everyone what he's capable of.
Beal eventually passed Unseld on the Wizards' all-time scoring list, moving into fourth place behind John Wall, Jeff Malone and Elvin Hayes with a pull-up jumper at the beginning of the second half.
Beal is closing in on Wall and has more than a good chance of passing his teammate by the end of this season. Beal will most likely pass Malone next year, health permitting and if he wants to eclipse Hayes at the top, he probably needs to sign another extension with the franchise.
If the Wizards can continue to build a formidable young core around him and a healthy locker room culture, you have to think Washington will have as good a chance as any to retain Beal long term.
Bertans vs. Morris
Davis Bertans and former Wizard Markieff Morris have some history. Back in December when the Wizards visited Detroit, Morris earned himself a technical foul for throwing Bertans to the floor.
Bertans had some choice words for him when the referees were reviewing the play, and we left it at that.
Until Monday, when Morris smacked Bertans in the face and was ejected for his actions.

Maybe Morris misses playing for the Wizards. Maybe Bertans' elite three-point shooting annoys him.
Whatever it is, we want to know why these two can't get along.
