The Wizards return from the All-Star break Friday against the Cavaliers with an eye on winning a third consecutive game for the first time this season.
Washington won its last two games before the break against the Bulls and Knicks, both by double-digits, and has momentum on its side as it chases a playoff spot. At the break, Washington sat three games behind Orlando for the eighth spot in the eastern conference.
Bradley Beal also looks to continue a streak of his own. The Wizards' leading scorer, and All-Star snub, has averaged 34.7 points during a stretch of 12 consecutive games with over 25 points, the third-longest streak across the NBA this season.
The Cavaliers come out of the All-Star break with the worst record in the eastern conference at 14-40. Cleveland is also in a transition period coming out of the break as the team and head coach John Beilein agreed to part ways Wednesday, and former assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff received a promotion to the full-time position.
