SANTA CLARA -- Left tackle Joe Staley said he will practice in some form on Wednesday. His status for the 49ers' game Sunday against the New York Giants is uncertain.
Staley sustained an orbital fracture of his right eye socket Oct. 29 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He did not practice last week and was inactive for the game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Staley's helmet has been outfitted with a tinted visor to prevent an injury such as the one he sustained against the Eagles, when defensive tackle Fletcher Cox's hand got between the bars of the facemask.
