Senyshyn, Karlsson expected to miss next week's B's Developmental Camp

WILMINGTON -- The Bruins will have most of their top prospects at Ristuccia Arena next week for their annual Development Camp.

Newly drafted players, like first-round picks Charlie McAvoy and Trent Frederic, will be there, along with dark-horse candidates for the NHL roster like defenseman Brandon Carlo and playmaker Danton Heinen. One player who might be missing, however, will be one of last year’s first-round picks, Zach Senyshyn, who is expected to miss the entire week of workouts and activities because of mononucleosis.

Also, Boston University center Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson will also not be at camp after “the Bruins and [Karlsson] agreed that last year’s second-round pick would not attend due to school, family and travel commitments,”according to the club’s press release.

The Development Camp will be held from Tuesday, July 12 through Friday, July 15, and is expected to be the final Bruins event at Ristuccia. The team is scheduled to move into its new training facility in Brighton in September.

All of next week's on-ice sessions are open to the public and media. Players will participate in a variety of community events at the end of the week.

There will be 27 players -- 14 forwards, 9 defensemen, 4 goaltenders -- in attendance:

FORWARDS: Jack Becker, Anders Bjork, Jake DeBrusk, Ryan Donato, Ryan Fitzgerald, Trent Frederic, Jesse Gabrielle, Danton Heinen, Cameron Hughes, Joona Koppanen, Sean Kuraly, Mark Naclerio, Zachary Senyshyn (not expected to attend due to mono), Oskar Steen

DEFENSEMEN: Brandon Carlo, Cameron Clarke, Matt Grzelcyk, Emil Johansson, Jeremy Lauzon, Ryan Lindgren, Charlie McAvoy, Wiley Sherman, Jakob Zboril

GOALTENDERS: Stephen Dhillon*, Zane McIntyre, Malcolm Subban, Daniel Vladar
