Morning Skate: Cunningham finds new calling off the ice

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while totally geeked out for Stranger Things 2 coming out this weekend.

-- Craig Cunningham is still involved in the hockey world as a scout, but FOH (Friend of Haggs) Bob McKenzie says that he’s finding a new calling off the ice, as well.

-- Sean Avery has a new book out where he says outrageous things and comes off as a gigantic dink. Yawn.

-- Here is the good, the bad and the ugly from this weekend’s action with the Providence Bruins, courtesy of FOH Mark Divver.

-- Interesting stuff from (FOH) Friend of Haggs Dan Murphy about David Booth’s adventures this summer as a pilot when he began having serious engine trouble with the plane.

-- A good piece from Bruce Arthur about two teams coming from very different directions, the Los Angeles Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, that are in pretty much the same place to start the season

-- It’s a big blow for the Minnesota Wild as they’re going to lose Zach Parise for at least a couple of months after he underwent back surgery.

-- For something completely different: Kid Rock has made it official that he isn’t going to run for the Senate, so we can all breathe easier now.
