Morning Skate: Stanley Cup visits Humboldt Broncos bus crash survivors in hospital

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while wishing the Boston Celtics good luck on their playoff journey.

*There’s nothing better than dandy Don Cherry talking about Bruins playoff hockey during his Coach’s Corner segments on Hockey Night in Canada.

*The Stanley Cup made a surprise visit to the hospital where the survivors of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash are recovering, and it was certainly a welcomed visitor.

*Sean Avery going after Dave Portnoy, who was trolling people with his hockey tweets, was certainly an entertaining diversion during last night’s hockey playoff action. I think “tool bag” probably most aptly describes Avery trying to stay relevant as a washed up hockey player.

*Even the Nashville catfish is getting into the swing of the “Pekka Rinne for Vezina” campaign by wearing a T-shirt on the ice.

*Larry Brooks thinks that Scott Stevens would be the right kind of head coaching leader for a New York Rangers team that needs a new voice.

*For something completely different: The ride with Gabe Kapler as the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies has been a wild one already.
