Farrell: Short stints, aggressive approach keys for Bard

Last year's Red Sox season was full of disasters and disappointments, but perhaps none of them (OK, everything Bobby V. aside) were bigger than Daniel Bard's implosion.

Bard failed in the rotation, and then failed when he was made back into a reliever.

He lost his control with pitches, and composure on the mound.

Well, here comes John Farrell -- former Sox pitching coach turned manager -- to hopefully save the day.

"I think what we need to do, not only from a physical standpoint to get back to those adjustments he showed three years ago, but it's the short stints, the aggressive style that will simplify his approach that I think has a better chance to get aback to the level of performance before," Farrell said.
