The White Sox announced Friday they traded third baseman Conor Gillaspie to the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations.

Gillaspie was designated for assignment on Sunday after a 2015 campaign in which he hit just .237 with three home runs and 15 RBIs. Gillaspie had a breakout 2014 season, hitting .282 with 13 home runs and 40 RBIs in 130 games.
