Preps Basketball Power Rankings: No. 21 Evanston

Share

School: Evanston

2016-17 record: 28-4, 10-0 Central Suburban North

Postseason results: Lost to Whitney Young in Class 4A supersectional.

Players to watch: Junior guard Lance Jones is one one the best guards in his class as he started 23 games for the Wildkits as a sophomore. Fellow junior guards Jaheim Holden and Ryan Bost also were valuable contributors to last season's team.

Why they're in the power rankings: Evanston loses a valuable senior core, including four-year varsity performer Nojel Eastern (Purdue). But while the Wildkits have to replace a lot, the trio of junior guards are very good and head coach Mike Ellis has a lot of young talent coming through the pipeline.

Did you know? Evanston captured four consecutive regional titles during Eastern's four years with the program.
