The 49ers on Tuesday signed the first of their eight draft picks, finalizing the mandatory four-year deal with Utah punter Mitch Wishnowsky.
The 49ers selected Wishnowsky in the fourth round of the draft with the No. 110 overall pick. In the NFL’s slotting system, Wishnowsky’s deal calls for him to make $3.28 million over the life of his rookie contract, including a signing bonus of $764,000, according to overthecap.com.
Wishnowsky averaged 45.2 yards per punt with 25 fair catches and 20 punts of 50 or more yards as a senior. He was a named second-team AP All-America.
