Cardinals coach sticking with Josh Rosen despite Kyler Murray rumors

Kyler Murray is a football player in all the ways one would be a football player.

The two-sport athlete posted on his Twitter account that he is "firmly and fully committing his life and time to becoming an NFL quarterback."

With his future leaning toward the gridiron, what are his chances of being the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft?

Well, they appear to be slim.

Very slim.

Almost non-existent.

Just one day after rumors swirled when Murray's football agent was revealed to be the same as Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury, the newly-hired coach clarified his quarterback situation will not change despite having an affinity for Murray.

"Our feelings toward Josh haven't waned or changed or anything," Kingsbury told ESPN in an interview. "I get we have the first pick (in the upcoming NFL draft) and so there's going to be a million scenarios over the next three months that are going to come up, but no, Josh is our guy."

Kingsbury once complimented Murray in an interview saying he would have him as his first pick if he could:

In that same ESPN interview, Kingsbury continued to compliment Murray, but wanted to clarify his previous words:

"Kyler is a tremendous player," he said. "And I said that as being very complimentary before we played an opponent. I understand the sound bite but, like I said, there'll be a ton of scenarios that will come up before we get to the draft."

The Arizona Cardinals' Twitter account made sure to double down on the situation as well:

The 49ers, meanwhile, own that No. 2 pick. But while Jimmy Garoppolo is holding down QB responsibilities, this still affects the Niners, though.

Now that the Cardinals aren't likely to draft Murray No. 1, there's a greater chance they select Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa, who's considered the best player in the draft. Bosa would be a dream scenario for the 49ers, who desperately need someone to rush the quarterback.

So don't have too much fun with that speculation, fam. The chances of Nick Bosa in Red and Gold just took a hit.
