Matt Olson has hit longest home run by A's player in Statcast era

You know what they say: "Chicks dig the long ball." They should stop saying that.

Nonetheless, we love home runs -- especially when we're able to measure how far they go thanks to Statcast. Including this gem from Matt Olson during his rookie season in 2017:

This 483-foot beauty was not only the longest hit home run of the season, but it's the longest one from an Oakland A's player since the Statcast era began tracking at the beginning of the 2015 season, according to MLB.com.

Olson did this at the neutral Citizens Bank Park against Mark Leiter Jr., who was also in his rookie season.

Olson finished his debut season with a .259/.352/.651 slash line and a 1.003 OPS with 33 home runs, and he was in AL Rookie of the Year talks.

Former A's infielder Ryon Healy is right behind Olson's homer with a 480-foot blast of his own in 2016.

Will Olson beat that number in 2020? We'll just have to wait and see.
