The A's held the Houston Astros to just three runs Friday night, but still opened their three-game set with a 3-2 loss.
Despite Ramon Laureano's best efforts, Oakland's offense was largely quiet. Laureano was responsible for four of the A's seven hits, and he reached base almost as many times (four) as the rest of the team combined (six).
Laureano will bat eighth in Houston on Saturday, and Chad Pinder draws into the lineup at second base in place of Jurickson Profar, as the A's try to improve to 7-5 on the season.
