After tying the game in a strange fashion, the A's beat the Houston Astros on Wednesday night at the Coliseum in a much more straightforward manner.
Well, sort of.
Ramón Laureano's two-out, walk-off single completed Oakland's 3-2 come-from-behind win over the reigning AL West champions. Laureano's hit was the only one of the inning, as the A's reached base on a walk, hit-by-pitch, forceout and fielder's choice.

It was also Laureano's first, and only, hit.
The A's trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the seventh, but tied the game thanks to Tommy La Stella's two-out, two-run double to left. La Stella's game-tying hit wasn't quite so simple, though, as the ball took a fortuitous bounce off left fielder Kyle Tucker's leg.

Every win counts the same in the standings, though, and the A's moved 5 1/2 games clear of the Astros in the division Wednesday. Oakland also reached a milestone that tidily encapsulates this season's AL West role reversal.

The A's victory over the Astros was their sixth of the season, ensuring Oakland's first winning record against Houston since 2014.
