Giants vs. Padres lineups: Mauricio Dubon hitting eighth in team debut

Share

The Giants have another team debut scheduled tonight, as No. 8 prospect (MLB.com) Mauricio Dubon is in the starting lineup as San Francisco welcomes in the San Diego Padres for a three-game series.

Dubon was recalled Tuesday, along with Tyler Rogers and Joey Rickard, but did not make an appearance. The 25-year-old will be playing second base and batting eighth in his Giants debut. Dubon previously got two at bats with the Brewers before the Giants acquired him at this season's MLB trade deadline.

On the mound for San Francisco is Dereck Rodriguez, who has encountered a fair amount of struggles in his sophomore season after an impressive rookie campaign.

Rodriguez last started on Aug. 21 and was lit up for six runs in four innings at Wrigley Field.

Taking the hill for the Padres is Chris Paddack, who hasn’t won a start since July 29. He most recently was roughed up by the Red Sox, allowing seven runs in just 2 1/3 innings.

First pitch will be at 6:45 p.m., with Giants Pregame Live beginning at 5:30. You can watch on NBC Sports Bay Area and streaming here.
