If you thought the Rockies looked bad when they visited Oracle Park last month, well, we've got some news for you.
The Giants took five of six from the Rockies at home last month and absolutely demolished them in their first inning this season at Coors Field, scoring 10 runs on eight hits, including back-to-back homers by Brandon Belt and Buster Posey.

Over a month into the season, the Giants managed to raise their team batting average from .220 to .226 in just one inning. It was their first 10-run frame since 2008 and their first 10-run first inning since 1967.
This was just the fifth time in franchise history that the Giants scored double-digit runs in the first inning. Three of the previous four were 11-run innings, and on May 13, 2011, the Giants scored 13 runs in the first inning against St. Louis.
Rockies right-hander German Marquez, usually their ace, didn't even make it out of the nightmare first. He started the game by allowing five straight hits and then issued a walk. Wilmer Flores hit a two-run single to make it 4-0 and from there the Giants poured it on. Middle infielders Trevor Story and Ryan McMahon botched a double-play ball, allowing the Giants to turn their lineup over after pitcher Aaron Sanchez struck out.

When Belt came up for a second time, the bases were loaded. He hit a 452-foot grand slam, the third of his career. Posey followed with a solo shot to right that was his seventh in 19 appearances, tying his total for all of the 2019 season.
All told, the Giants had four singles, two doubles, two homers and two walks. The inning lasted nearly 30 minutes.
