Heyman explains his premature report on Judge signing with Giants

For about five minutes on Tuesday afternoon, Aaron Judge was a San Francisco Giant. Scratch that, Arson Judge was a San Francisco Giant. There's a huge difference, apparently.

Unfortunately for San Francisco, both Judge and his evil twin were erased from the Giants' lineup before fans could even think about purchasing a jersey.

Some context: MLB Network's Jon Heyman shocked the baseball world on Tuesday afternoon, sending out a tweet that, well ... just read for yourself.

Not only did Heyman spell Judge's name wrong, but he followed it up with another tweet where he admitted to prematurely reporting that Judge was signing with the Giants.

Poor Giants fans experienced a whole range of emotions in the span of five minutes.

Heyman joined 95.7 The Game's "Damon & Ratto" later in the afternoon, where he addressed his misfire on Twitter and provided some reassurance for Giants fans.

"I heard he was going to the Giants from a couple of people, so I thought it was good enough," Heyman explained. "Since then, the Giants have said they haven't heard, the Yankees have said they haven't heard. So I think they would know before me if there's anything definitive. At this point, the tea leaves look a lot more positive than they did before for the Giants. At this point, I would not report that, obviously, because I retracted it."

"I went too quickly with it. It was premature, but at this point, the tea leaves are looking better for the Giants than they have been."

Heyman's premature report, albeit frustrating for many fans waiting to hear what the free-agent slugger decides, spawned many hilarious reactions on Twitter.

Long live Arson Judge. His bat brought a fire to the middle of the Giants' lineup not seen since the likes of Barry Bonds.
