D.J. Snelten gets to keep wearing orange and black. Just not for the Giants.
The left-handed reliever, who was designated for assignment by the Giants on May 28, was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Monday. Baltimore immediately optioned Snelten to Triple-A Norfolk.
The 26-year-old Snelten struggled in four appearances with the Giants this season. He posted a 10.38 ERA in 4.1 innings.

A ninth-round pick by the Giants in the 2013 MLB Draft Snelten had a 2.20 ERA in 51 games between Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento last season. The Giants thought highly enough of Snelten to send him to the Arizona Fall League and he backed up that decision by posting a 2.25 ERA in eight appearances.
