Longtime Giants broadcast partners Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow are staying close while social distancing.
"People are always wondering about Mike and I, and do we talk a lot, right?" Kuiper joked Thursday on NBC Sports Bay Area's "Kruk & Kuip with Amy G" web series. "And it's not something that we're proud of, but we FaceTime each other right before we go to bed and then we set our alarms for the same time, and as soon as we wake up, we FaceTime each other again. It's great."
Krukow quipped that Kuiper wanted to see which of the two looked most like Nick Nolte's mugshot. I'll let you, dear reader, make that choice in the interest of fairness.

OK, the two broadcasters aren't calling each other every day, but they will be chatting with Amy G every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on NBC Sports Bay Area's digital platforms while the MLB season is paused due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
How do they stay busy in the meantime?
Kuiper is sheltering in place with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchild, forming a "roving five" while they stay at home.
"You end up going back to, 'What have I done to kill time over the last 60 years?' " Kuiper said. "Well, I've done puzzles, I read a book, and we're doing all of that."

Krukow wisecracked that he found a new gig near his home in Reno, Nev.
"Well, I've been checking IDs for the 'senior hour' at Whole Foods and that's been my job," Krukow said. "Just kidding. They won't let me out of the house! My wife, Jennifer, and my daughter, Tessa, we're all three here and we're kind of the three-man wrecking crew. We're taking on the boredom of being sequestered as best we can.
"A lot of puzzles, a lot of music, a lot of just telling stories -- watching old home movies! So, we're making the best of it and abiding by the rules."
Here's hoping they can bring their humor back to the booth, and the coronavirus is beaten, sooner rather than later.
